how many sessions will I need ?

This may be one of the most commonly asked questions and is understandably one of the most important to the client. However it is also one of the most impossible to answer (and I don't use the word impossible often) without having had the initial consultation and without having had a therapy plan created by the therapist. Even after a plan has been put into place this is liable to change depending on how quickly therapy develops and whether new issues come to the surface or not. Don't let this worry you however, as hypnotherapy has one of the best session to therapy ratios in the world of therapy. As can be  seen below.

  • Hypnotherapy generally takes on average between 4 & 6 sessions before recovery takes place.

  • Cognitive Behavoural Therapy (CBT, the counselling choice of the NHS) takes on average between 20 & 24 before recovery takes place.

  • Psychotherapy takes on average over 150 sessions before recovery takes place.

As can be seen, Hypnotherapy is by far the quickest form of therapy for achieving recovery. However the amount of sessions that an individual client will require depends largely on the individual client themselves and the issue that needs repairing. At New Age Therapy we do therapy packages, these are a set number of sessions, products and therapies aimed at relieving a problem within a time-limit. The therapist will only agree to a client signing up to a package if he truly believes that the client will be able to improve the condition within the package limit. Even in these cases however the client may be advised to take on more sessions if other issues rise to the surface during therapy.

safety, security & confidentiality ?

Here at New Age Therapy one of our utmost principles is to keep our clients safe and secure and to keep all personal details confidential. I understand that during therapy people will be opening up, this can make them feel extremely vulnerable and insecure, which is why we take the safety and security of our clients very seriously. This is why our clinic is located in the top office of the Town Hall. The Town Hall is only accessible through two doors, one of which you need a code for and the other only opens from the inside out. Once in the clinic their is another code locked door before reaching the office which requires another code to gain access. The clinic also has around the clock security meaning it is always safe and protected. Not only that but the local police station is directly across the road. Therefore, all of our clients can rest assured that they are fully safe and secure.

Confidentialility is another of our key principals. We will always keep any personal details about you secret from anyone and everyone. We have a locked filing cabinet that will be used to retain the details of all our clients, we are obliged to keep these records for a number of years. You can request to see these files if you wish, at which time we have 28 days to bring them to you in a readable format. However, no one else can ever ask to see your details. If anyone gets in touch with the therapist claiming to be on your behalf then the therapist will deny all knowledge of knowing you unless you have already stated that this person is allowed to ring on your behalf. The therapist will not contact you on any number except the ones which have been given, and he will not leave messages unless you have stated that your immediate family are aware of your therapy. Finally, the therapist is obliged to report you to the police if he is worried that you plan and will hurt yourself and others, similarly if the police come to the therapist with a court order to release your details then his is obliged to do so. Otherwise, any crimes and secrets revealed to the therapist are confidential and will not be revealed to the police.

do I guarantee results ?

I have a 100% track record of recovery when working with people who truly want to recover, however if, deep down you don't wish to get better, then I cannot help you I'm afraid, and as soon as I realise that therapy is wasted on you then I will cease treatment.

Why would anyone not want to get better I hear you ask. Well it's simple, I had a friend who was plagued with ankle pains while I was training to be a therapist, I offered to do therapy on him for free if he wished as it would be good practice for me. The friend refused, and it wasn't because he was scared of hypnosis, or because he was in denial about how bad his ankle pain was or anything like that. He refused because his ankle pain meant he received sympathy from his friends and family, sympathy that he thrived on. For him the sympathy was more important than being pain-free, but at least he was consciously aware of this. Some individuals aren't as consciously aware as my friend was, and may believe that they want to get better when they do not actually. This is just one example though of many reasons why people don't wish to get better.

But I can guarantee that if you come in with the right attitude and have full confidence in me as you should, then I will do my best to help you overcome your problem, and though some people take longer than others, if you have the right attitude and truly want to get better, then you will with my help.

talk to me live!

If you've read the ABOUT section and through the FAQ section and you still haven't had an answer to your question then please feel free to get in touch with me. Either by e-mail, by phone, or if you would prefer, through our talk live option.

Talk live is a unique option to talk to the therapist live about any issues you may have and want answering quickly without having to pick up the phone. Whenever the therapist is in office, but not "in session" then talk live will be available. If the therapist is out of office or "in session" then talk live will give you the option to leave a message instead. This way you can still tell me your concerns and I can get back to you as soon as I am able.
